Have No Anxiety About Anything

Don't Miss

Ways To Treat Nervousness

How can you control your nervous thoughts? Simply trying to push them away doesnt work. Numerous psychological studies have confirmed that it’s impossible to force yourself to not think about something. In fact, have shown that trying not to think about something may make you more likely to think about it, because you’ll have to keep reminding yourself not to think about it, thus triggering the memory

So ideally, you need to find a strategy that will control the nervousness, but not necessarily eliminate it, and thankfully there are a lot of very effective options for stopping nervous thinking. These include:

Any Other Mental Health Issue

Mental illness can cause, or contribute to, feeling a lack of drive. Mental illness doesn’t discriminate, and mental illness is not your fault if you lack drive. However, if you lack drive, you must try to seek help.

Sometimes, mental illness makes you not stay motivated in other ways. Sometimes you are feeling okay, but then you get overstimulated and have a breakdown due to your mental illness. You were feeling motivated, but because of your mental illness or your personality disorders, it’s difficult for you to try to continue trying.

Additional Causes Of Anxiety And Their Cures

The above causes of anxiety may overlap and/or be exacerbated by:

  • Post-traumatic stress
  • The solution here is to treat that PTSD and anxiety the same as mentioned before.
  • Youre suffering from Post-Intensive Care Syndrom-Family .A loved one has spent time in the intensive care. As a result of that traumatic experience, you now also now suffer from anxiety and possibly even PTSD.The solution is to treat your anxiety symptoms the same as mentioned before.
  • Your mother went through a stressful time when you were still in the womb.
  • For all of these issues, youll benefit from and feel tons better for following the advice on how to deal with the immediate symptoms that youll find further down the page.

People with the lowest combined aerobic and muscular fitness had 98% higher odds of depression, 60% higher odds of anxiety, and 81% higher odds of having either one of the common mental health disorders, compared to those with high levels of overall fitness.

: Longitudinal study finds lack of physical fitness is linked to heightened risk of mental disorders

    Anxiety Caused By Lifestyle Habits

Never underestimate the effect your lifestyle can have on your anxiety levels. For example, some research has shown that those that do not exercise are more prone to developing anxiety, because their body has unused energy, and because they start producing less stress-coping hormones.

Similarly, although diet does not traditionally cause significant anxiety, it can still play a role. Caffeine, for example, can exacerbate mild anxiety symptoms. Unhealthy foods can cause you to feel unhealthy, which in turn causes stress that leads to anxiety. Drug use is frequently a cause of anxiety.

This is why even with therapy and medicine, a change to lifestyle habits is often necessary.

The Effective Habit: You Let Yourself Think Negative Thoughtsthe Anxiety Habit: You Consider Negative Thoughts Dangerous And Try Not To Think About Them

At first glance, you might think I wrote this one backwards: isnt it bad to think negative thoughts? Isnt that part of the problem? Absolutely not.

You probably know what happens when you try to stop thinking about something: it just makes you think about it more, right? Well, people with a lot of anxiety tend to do this a lot, even though it doesnt work. Certain thoughts are so painful to them that they consider these thoughts dangerous, and they do anything in their power to not think about thembut that just ends up making it worse.

You might be surprised to learn that people who dont have an anxiety problem also have lots of negative thoughtsthey just deal with them in a very different way: They dont try to do anything about them.

When they have negative thoughts, they simply dont spend much time on them. They accept the negative thoughts rather than fighting them, which makes the thoughts lose their power.

Part 4 Of 4:managing Your Physiological Response To Fear

  • What Causes Anxiety Disorders

Its a question that is so difficult to answer. Its not like having a cold – you cant simply wake up with an anxiety disorder because you forgot to wash your hands before picking your nose.

Anxiety disorders are forged over years of experiences. They have a genetic component, an upbringing component, an environmental component. Every experience youve ever had can craft your anxiety disorder, just as any experience youve had in life can ensure you never get one.

Anxiety may even have no real cause at all.

There are also many forms of anxiety. There are different causes of OCD, causes of panic attacks, causes of PTSD, causes of generalized anxiety disorder, causes of phobias every experience and every anxiety is unique in some way.

Still, the best way to understand what created your anxiety disorder is to break it down into the two main causes:

    • Biology
    • Environment

These do not account for all anxiety symptoms. In fact, anxiety can, in some ways, create itself something that we will explore near the end of the guide. But generally, the two causes of anxiety are your body, and your experiences in the world around you.

    Give Your Anxiety To God

Once sin entered the world, God knew life was not going to be easy, but He promised he wouldnt leave us to navigate things on our own. He tells us to hand our anxious thoughts to Him.

Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

1 Peter 5:7  Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Matthew 6:25-34  Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?  Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Psalm 46:10 Surrender your anxiety! Be silent and stop your striving and you will see that I am God. I am the God above all the nations, and I will be exalted throughout the whole earth.

    What Others Thought Of Me

A man is rich in proportion to the number of things he can afford to let alone. Henry David Thoreau

As someone who struggled with anxiety, I cared far too much about what other people thought about me. I wont go into much detail, but I will say this

    Ignore them.

Ignore their opinions. Ignore their validation. Ignore it so hard that it swings around and kicks your ass further toward the life you want.

Caring about what others think about you, or your work, is the single greatest deterrent from living the life you want.

It is a lifelong battle, but start it now, so you dont wake up at 50 in a house in the suburbs, confused how you got there, realizing that someone elses opinion dictated your every decision.

I took the advice of Brene Brown to heart by writing down a short list of people that I care what they think about my work. Some are in the creative arena, trying to build something out of nothing, and some of them are close friends. But none of them are critics vying for me to see the world their way.

Do the same. Create a short list of the people whose opinions matter. And forget the rest.

    Substance Abuse And Mental Addiction

Another mental illness that can make you lose drive is substance abuse and mental addiction. Abusing a substance like alcohol or another drug, legal or illegal, can lead to mental illness, substance abuse and mental issues, and other health issues. If you’re addicted, it can lead to various health issues, but there are ways to overcome them. Here are some ways to overcome your addiction.

To Find Peace Shift Your Attention And Intention

Ruminating about anxiety and anxiety’s cause means that’s where our thoughts are. The more we think about anxiety and what it’s doing to us and how paralyzing it is, the stronger it grows. Like anything , what we attend to is what flourishes. In constantly wondering “why” we are giving our precious attention to anxiety and its strengths.

What if, instead, we were to ignore anxiety’s strengths and pay attention to our character strengths? You’re sitting at work and are suddenly struck by a feeling of intense anxiety. The more you focus on how it feels and the more you focus on wondering why it happened, the stronger and longer it will be. Instead, think of the fact that you are stronger than your anxiety.

Pay attention to what’s been positive in your day thus far. Remember what you’re great at and do something within one of your strengths. Perhaps you pride yourself on your kindness; you could take a quick break from what you’re doing and do a small random act of kindness for someone nearby.

Will you still feel anxious? Probably, at least at first, anyway. But because you’ve shifted your attention to your strengths rather than anxiety’s strengths and because you’re doing something intentional to shift your thoughts and actions, you’ll find that anxiety lessens its grip just a bit.

What Are The Best Interventions To Beat That Anxiety For No Reason Forever

Much of the above can be due to health problems that cause inflammation.

Also, the above signs and symptoms can be treated with hypnosis. Self-hypnosis with the aid of a professionally created download is super user-friendly and effective in treating a huge number of conditions.

Look at these . Or, see my article:  to have all your questions answered.

I also want you to consider getting some professional help too, as your anxiety for no reason may well be related to how you view yourself, your perceptions of the world around you, what you tell yourself about those perceptions, how you react to all of the above.

Your being on edge so often might be worsened by your imagination.

Those waves of anxiety may, in part, be caused by your brains reality simulator which is always on stand-by to dish up the worst possible scenarios.

    Do also ask yourself

    • Is there any chance you sometimes use anxiety to get out of things you just dont fancy for reasons other than your fears?
    • Might you also be suffering from social anxiety?
    • Could you possibly be setting yourself up to be the vulnerable one in your relationship ?
    • Have you ever had a nervous breakdown?

All of these can play a role when youre plagued by anxiety for no reason.

    What Causes Anxiety

Common causes of anxiety include: stress at work, school pressure, or conflicts with friends, family, or significant others. Sometimes, spending too much time online, or plugging into the news cycle all day, can make us feel more anxious than we would otherwise. Anxiety can also happen when you feel tired, dehydrated, have not eaten nourishing food, or have gotten inadequate sleep. If you have anxiety as part of a diagnosed mental illness, it may not always have a single direct cause. You might feel anxious for extended periods of time, even if youre not going through anything worrysome. Symptoms of anxiety include racing heart rate, sweaty palms, shallow breathing, and feelings of fear and uncertainty. If you have anxiety, there are several ways to address it. You can try distancing yourself from the people, places, or activities that make you feel anxious. You can spend time unplugged from your devices each night before bed. Getting exercise, eating healthy food, and getting plenty of sleep can also help lower your stress level. It also helps anxiety to call a friend or loved one and check in. Friendships can be so encouraging when we are stressed. If you feel like youve tried everything and are still anxious, talking to a mentor or counselor may help.

    Is It In Your Genes

If anxiety appears to run in the family, it may be that your genetic inheritance that biological lottery has set you up for some vulnerability to anxiety.

That does not necessarily mean your genes are the cause of your problem. The story is far more complicated than that.

Not every timid, shy and anxious child develops into a fearful adult with anxiety problems.

Lifestyle factors, parenting and other experiences, as well as your manner of dealing with stressors , determine the ultimate outcome.

Your personal development, and here the development of anxiety, depends on

    • how safe your environment was when you grew up
    • to what extent essential emotional needs were met
    • whether or not you had parents who were overprotective
    • whether or not you had a parent who was always anxious
    • whether or not you were encouraged to become more resilient and deal with, rather than avoid, feared situations at home, with friends and at school

These experiences would have shaped your own reactions and general attitude towards stressful situations and life-events.

But ultimately, yes, your genes could indeed be the cause of your anxiety.

So, what can you do about it?

Youve always been a nervous type chronically anxious?

Regardless of whether that is through a genetic predisposition or any of the above, you just need to follow all the steps below to permanently get over that sense of panic.

Unless you need treatment for trauma, decide to focus only on the here and now from now on.

    Overcoming Anxiety With Proper Treatment

Residential treatment is an excellent way to get the care you need for your anxiety, both in terms of healing its causes and learning how to cope with the disorder. There are many different anxiety disorders, and a good residential program will begin with an initial evaluation and an accurate diagnosis, which is key to sustainable recovery. They will give you comprehensive treatmentnot just for your anxiety, but any co-occurring disorders that may be present. Residential clinicians will delve into the root causes and triggers of your anxiety, and zero in on the areas where healing work must be done.

Youll receive 24-hour care at a residential treatment facility. That means if you have a panic attack at any time, day or night, there will be someone there to support you through it. Youll receive medication from a psychiatrist to help ease your symptoms. And if youre currently on medication, the doctor can adjust it until youre feeling better. Youll never alone, as youll be in a community of people who, like you, are struggling with anxiety and other challenges. And youll be in a pristine healing environment, far away from the situations, people, or places that may have been making your anxiety worse. In short, a residential treatment facility is a soothing, safe place to heal where you can build up your confidence and learn the coping mechanisms necessary to manage and live beyond the boundaries set by your anxiety.

Common Signs And Symptoms Of Anxiety

    Sufferers often

  • are particularly sensitive to what other people think of them.
  • worry excessively constantly mulling over the negative outcomes of the what ifs almost against their will.
  • feel frighteningly out of control of their feelings.
  • can cry for no reason.
  • experience anticipatory anxiety  worrying excessively long before and about a particular event or situation.
  • tend to avoid conflict situations so as not to have to battle, both with themselves and those around them.
  • make choices based on , not their true wants and dreams.
  • have all kinds of unusual what they might call silly fears  in other peoples eyes as well as their own.
  • suffer from , which affects their mood and makes ordinary tasks the following day challenging, leading to poor health and even more worries.
  • feel guilty for the impact of their anxious behaviour on their partners, childrens and even friends lives.
  • feel at times ashamed of themselves.
  • Anyone suffering from anxiety is, in my eyes, courageous they have nothing to be ashamed of.

The Effective Habit: When You Feel Anxious Dont Fight Itlet It Bethe Anxiety Habit: When You Feel Anxious Do Whatever You Can To Make It Go Away

The most basic, most important thing to know about anxiety is that avoidance does not work. The harder you try to not feel anxious, the more anxious you will feel. The more you avoid situations that make you anxious, the more anxious you will be in the long run. This is why anxiety does not get better on its own.

The alternative to avoidance is acceptance: instead of fighting the anxiety, the Effective Habit is to allow the anxiety to be there. If fighting it just makes it worse, then acceptance must be the answer. This might sound crazy at first, but it really does work.

People who dont have an anxiety problem DO still have some anxietyits a normal part of life. But they dont give much time to their anxiety even when it does come up. They dont give the anxiety respect. They dont treat it as a problem, and the anxiety eventually backs down without them having to do anything about it. But anxiety feeds off of you fighting with it; so if you fight it, it only gets worse.

Dont give your anxiety respect. Dont give it your time. Stop doing all the things youve been doing to fight it, and it will eventually lift on its own.

    Anxiety And Overthinking Everything

Tanya J. Peterson, MS, NCC, DAIS

Anxiety and overthinking tend to be evil partners. One of the horrible hallmarks of any type of anxiety disorder is the tendency to overthink everything. The anxious brain is hypervigilant, always on the lookout for anything it perceives to be dangerous or worrisome. I’ve been accused of making problems where there aren’t any. To me, though, there are, indeed, problems. Why? Because anxiety causes me to overthink everything. Anxiety makes us overthink everything in many different ways, and the result of this overthinking isn’t helpful at all. Fortunately, anxiety and overthinking everything doesn’t have to be a permanent part of our existence.

What Is Anxiety And What Are The Symptoms

Lets start with the basics. What does anxiety mean?

Here are some words to describe it: apprehension, fear, dread, trepidation, nervousness, butterflies in your stomach.

There are three anxiety disorders: panic disorder, social anxiety disorder and generalised anxiety disorder.

Were going to be dealing with the latter, but just in case you also suffer from panic disorder, be sure to read my article on in their tracks.

    Have No Anxiety About Anything

“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let all men know your forbearance. The Lord is at hand. Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God” .

Most of the time anxiety is not particularly helpful. The purpose of anxiety is to make us alert and ready to avoid some danger. But when there’s nothing we can do to avoid the evil we’re afraid of, when it’s not reasonable for us to take many steps to avoid it, or in general when this being-on-guard against danger is useless, there’s no point in being anxious. It takes away peace, and hinders us from a wholehearted and joyful pursuit of the good we are about. An recent example occurred, in which someone on a pilgrimage was anxious about reaching a Mass on time. The judgment that they should walk more quickly might be a reasonable one, but after making such a judgment, and increasing the pace, there is no point in worrying more about the matter.
