How Is Masked Depression Different From Depression

The terminology masked depression was largely used in the 1970s and 1980s to describe patients who complained of somatic symptoms, without any identifiable organic disorder.

However, the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders 5th edition do not categorize masked depression as a mental disorder.
