Who Can Qualify As A Primary Caregiver
Colorado has four types of caregivers: parents of a patient who is a minor, those who advise, those who transport, and and those who cultivate. Once a patient is qualified in Colorado, they can add a caregiver to their account. However, the state has specific provisions for parents:
Parents/legal guardians of minor children listed as the primary caregiver do not need to register in the Caregiver Registry unless they cultivate more than 36 plants for the patient. Parents growing fewer than 36 plants are encouraged to register their cultivation location at the Caregiver Registry, but this is not required.

Why Marijuana Use May Not Help Bipolar Disorder
Existing studies on the relationship between marijuana and bipolar disorder conclude that marijuana use may contribute to worsened depressive and manic symptoms. Data from the Journal of Affective Disorders states that among people with bipolar disorder, marijuana use is associated with both early onset of manic periods and more frequent depressive episodes.
Many medical professionals dissuade people from using marijuana to treat bipolar disorder as it is not a safe and reliable medicine for everyone. It can complicate the management of bipolar disorder by virtue of causing mood instability and psychosis in certain patients with bipolar disorder, said psychiatrist Girish Subramanyan in an interview with Psychiatry Advisor. Moreover, its not uncommon for me to see patients with bipolar disorder relapse into mania with recent cannabis use.
One of the most concerning issues with combining marijuana and bipolar disorder is self-medication. Many people who use marijuana to treat bipolar disorder self-medicate without a doctors guidance. Self-medication with any drug for any condition, including marijuana and bipolar disorder, may not work and could be life-threatening. Self-medicating is an extremely serious concern for our population, says mental health journalist John McManamy. Co-occurring substance abuse can effectively turn treatable bipolar into untreatable bipolar.

Getting A Medical Marijuana Card For Adhd In Person
In the majority of the thirty-three different US states with legalized medical marijuana, you can expect to need to go to a doctor to be awarded a medical marijuana card.
If you are looking to get one to treat your ADHD, you are going to need two things: Your state identification, and proof that you have ADHD. This means prescription medication that you have previously been taking, as well as any written evidence of your condition.
This is vital because, even though your medical records will obviously demonstrate that you have ADHD, it is ultimately up to your doctor as to whether or not he gives you a medical marijuana card.
Despite the fact that your state has medical marijuana, it is entirely possible that your doctor will not agree with the use of marijuana to treat your condition. Even though this might sound unfair, it is ultimately your physician that gets the final say on whether or not you have access to medical marijuana.
You might get lucky and find yourself with an understanding, socially aware doctor who understands the usefulness of marijuana in treating a myriad of different conditions. Or, if you are unlucky, you might find yourself with a much older doctor who still believes that marijuana is somehow related to the devil or is, in general, an evil substance.
